"Evil Possum": David N. Brown's Autism/ Asperger's Syndrome site
My name is David Brown. I am an adult diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, a semi-pro writer and a seminary student working on a masters project about Autism Spectrum Disorders. I am creating this site to host some of my own writings related to autism.
About the possum: The "evil possum" is a character (called No-Hands) I created in high school. He is the only known member of his apecies, Archididelphis invicta, living in a civilization of (less) intelligent rodents. He works as a mercenary, but is really only interested in ridding the world of cruelty, stupidity and inefficiency. He's considered violently antisocial by everyone else, but is actually "gregarious" for his species. I always thought of him as a reflection of my own darker side. After learning about my own AS diagnosis and the characteristics of "Aspies", I could easily identify those qualities not only in myself, but some of my characters, including No-Hands. He is up here as a symbol of some of my feelings and experiences.
